Tasting and Fireworks Cruises

Sailing with a Sommelier - Tasting Cruises

What is the perfect way to spend a summer evening?  In Saskatoon, start with the tranquility of our beautiful South Saskatchewan River.  Add being on the river, on board The Prairie Lily Riverboat.  Top it off with feature tastings of some of the finer things in life – Bourbons, Wines, Canapes, Cocktails or Scotch.  In 2017 we had sell out cruises with the Sommeliers from our partner vendor, Co-op Wine Spirits Beer.  They have agreed to bring their tasting room to the Prairie Lily again in 2018.  Watch for our announcements for next summer's special cruises on Wednesdays in July and August 2018. (Please note, all tasting cruises are for guests 19 year old and over only.)

Canada Day Fireworks, July 1, 2018

What does July 1, 2018 look like?  When can you buy tickets?

The Optimist Club has brought you Canada Day Celebrations and Fireworks for years.  They are now working on a new plan to provide fun in the winter as well.

The Optimist Hill Campaign is working to build a winter recreation site at Diefenbaker Park.  If they are able to raise the funds, they may start construction in the summer of 2018.  This means the Canada Day Celebrations and Fireworks will have to be relocated for up to two years.

When a site for 2018 is determined, they will let us know.  If the fireworks will be viewable from the river, we will be hosting our annual Canada Day Fireworks Cruise.  Until that time, we are taking the names of those interested in tickets and contacting people on a first come first serve basis if tickets are available.  If you would like to be on our mailing list, please send your name, number, email address and the number of tickets you are interested in to

SOLD OUT! - PotashCorp Fireworks Festival - Labour Day Weekend, September 1, 2018  - SOLD OUT!

Labour Day weekend is lit up by the PotashCorp Fireworks Festival!  A fireworks extravaganza brightens Saskatoon's sky.  The fireworks start at 9:30 the Friday and Saturday of the long weekend.  We have a special evening sailing on Saturday, September 1, 2018, to share the view from the river.  We start with a casual cruise to settle you in and show you our beautiful river valley (and get to the south side of the "hot zone" prior to the river being closed to traffic).  Then, we serve a three course dinner with a freshly barbecued entree.  From there, the ship moves into position south of the Festival Site.  Before the show starts, you can enjoy the atmosphere of the Festival from the centre of the river.  Once the show starts, you have a front row seat to enjoy a professional show set to music enhanced by a glass of complimentary sparkling wine.  The whole event is an evening unto itself, lasting 3.5-4 hours.  The extra benefit?  Better parking!  Tickets $125 per person.  All guests must be 19 years old and over.

PLEASE NOTE:  Prairie River Cruises offers exceptional fireworks cruises and does so with the general confidence we are able to fulfill our promised event.   There are some general circumstances we cannot control and cannot be held responsible for, up to and including the cancellation or discontinuation of the main events by their organizers.  In addition to general sailing and weather conditions, in the case of the July 1 show, water levels and conditions may affect how close the ship can get.  In the case of the organizers cancelling the evening show, they expect to host it the following evening, again, weather permitting.  If you have September 1 Fireworks Tickets, please expect to keep September 2, 2018 available.  If you cannot join the second evening, we will refund your ticket and look to resell it.
